Parc El Harti review: our verdict
Concrete dinosaurs amidst a playground, a four-lobed pool adorned with blue zellige, and hedges lining the canals: Parc El Harti blends different eras. Created in 1938, this public garden occupies a large square of greenery between Guéliz and Hivernage, featuring palm tree avenues, a pergola covered in climbing plants, giant cacti, and bougainvillea bushes.
It is the perfect break for families with children, joggers, or anyone wanting to read for an hour in the shade right in the city center, and entry is free. A solar charging station even allows you to recharge your phone. However, it is not a meticulously maintained botanical garden like Majorelle: irrigation is lacking in some areas, some litter lingers, and the toilets should be avoided.
The best time to visit is in the morning, from 8 a.m., before the heat sets in. The highlight is the dinosaur playground to keep children occupied while parents stay in the shade. The pitfall is arriving late in the day, as the gates close at 6 p.m.
