Chouchou
Avenue Hassan II, in Guéliz, Chouchou is built around an open kitchen and its kamado, a Japanese barbecue oven from which the house's grilled specialties emerge: tomahawk, lamb, beef, smoked or braised meats. Beside it, the menu revisits the tajines and makes room for shrimp and sea risotto, working as much as possible with regional producers.
The restaurant is part of a hotel with stylish decor, featuring a rooftop, pool, and bar overlooking the city. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a blues playlist for lunch, livelier in the evening, and the bar takes care of its cocktails as much as its selection of Moroccan wines. The team knows how to welcome large parties, even when they arrive late. A great find for a dinner with friends, a lunch in the sun, or a first date.
Know this: in the evening, it's better to book, and a three-course formula lets you keep a hand on the bill. Open from 7 a.m. to midnight, Chouchou suits just as well for morning coffee as for the last drink on the roof. We come back for the kamado, we stay for the view.
