Restaurant Omega 3 review: our verdict
Fish is the sole focus of this establishment, proudly proclaimed in glowing letters above the door as "specialists in fish." Whole fish, squid, shrimp, and shellfish wait on ice in the display case, while in the kitchen they are grilled or fried with precision that is Omega 3's true selling point: perfectly cooked flesh, dry frying, and nothing to mask the quality of the product. The large mixed platters, fried squid, grilled fillets, rice, and vegetables are designed to be shared.
This is a Tangier-style dining spot for family lunches or gatherings among seafood enthusiasts who know exactly what they are ordering. The decor remains functional and the dining room fills up to the point where tables are pushed close together; it is not the place for a tête-à-tête or a low-budget meal. The residential Branes district, some distance from the city center, is accessible by car or taxi.
The trap: ordering multiple servings without asking for the prices, as the mixed fried dishes have given way to portions by species and the bill rises quickly. The dish to order: a grilled fish of the day, where the kitchen is most reliable. Note: Omega 3 is closed on Fridays.
