Soli Tangier review: our verdict
Founders of Alma Kitchen & Coffee have opened their second location near the Alcazar Cinema, shifting their focus to precise, unpretentious everyday Moroccan cuisine. The menu features Moroccan salads as starters, briouates, small hot dishes, skewers, and the daily tajine, complemented by homemade bread that deserves a moment to savor and lightly sweetened desserts.
The modern, clean interior incorporates subtle Moroccan decorative touches without being overwhelming, set against a backdrop of Maghrebi and Oriental music that allows for conversation. It's a welcoming spot for couples and families alike, with plenty of options for vegetarians. However, it's not designed for lingering late-night gatherings, as the kitchen closes at 10:30 PM, nor is it for those seeking fusion cuisine; here, the focus is intentionally on the basics.
The dishes to order are the salad assortment and briouates as starters, followed by the daily tajine. A caution: avoid arriving on a Tuesday, the day off. The real find is a fresh juice to accompany the meal.
