TAIKŌ Asian Kitchen review: our verdict
Ramen is the reason to push open the door at TAIKŌ: a flavorful broth, a Japanese-style egg, and soy sauce, all quality ingredients. Around it, the menu offers very fresh sushi, bowls, and hot dishes, served with genuine attention to presentation. Upstairs, a Japanese-style decorated corner gives the meal a little theatrical touch.
The modern and calming decor, on Jounaïd Street, makes it a good choice for a dinner for two, a lunch with colleagues, or a group of friends curious about sushi. The team smiles, stays attentive, and the owner comes out to the dining room themselves. Those who judge everything by the standards of major international Japanese chains will find the dish good, but no more: here, the setting weighs almost as much as the cuisine, and the house embraces this.
Dish to order: ramen, the most consistent value on the menu. Best tip: ask for a table upstairs, the most exotic part of the restaurant.
