Iloli review: our verdict
The foie gras ravioli say everything about the house: Iloli does not aim to stack up sushi platters; it crafts Japanese cuisine with delicate touches, using quality ingredients and a visible respect for flavours. The setting follows the same line, elegant and calming, without flashy decor.
Inside, you feel expected: the staff recognise regulars, and Soufiane has his devotees. For a weekday business lunch, a dinner for two, or a connoisseur seeking something other than California rolls. Not for a cheap shared platter: the bill is that of a fine dining table, and on some evenings, the wait can stretch while the classics, sashimi and gyozas, lose their shine.
Dish to order: foie gras ravioli. Best time to visit: lunch, served Tuesday to Saturday. Pitfall: coming on a Sunday, it's closed, or a Monday lunch, as the house only opens that day at 7 pm.
