Min Koy review: our verdict
Pushing open the door to Min Koy, you might think you're in Kyoto: a carefully crafted decor, an intimate dining room, and a hushed calm that lends itself perfectly to dinner. The Japanese cuisine here is precise and beautifully presented, with ingredients whose freshness is immediately apparent; the gyozas and soup have won over, while the sushi disappoints.
The restaurant is located in the Sofitel Tour Blanche, on rue Sidi Belyout, and the team possesses the professionalism of a hotel house: professional, attentive, discreet, with those little touches that bring you back. The address suits a dinner for two or a quiet business lunch. Fans of large shared sushi platters will find better and cheaper options elsewhere; the rooms are small and the prices are those of a central city hotel.
The trap: betting the entire meal on sushi. The right time slot: lunch from 12 pm to 3 pm, or dinner from 7 pm to 11 pm; the house is closed on Sundays. The best tip: the ftour during Ramadan, when the dining room finds its finest atmosphere.
