Hôtel Ibn Batouta review: our verdict
Everything happens on the roof. Hôtel Ibn Batouta has installed a small heated pool, a wooden deck, sun loungers, and a bar under the sails, with the city and its minarets on the horizon. You can enjoy lunch in the sun, lounge in the afternoon, and the view is enough to make you forget that you are sleeping in a city building. A second pool awaits on the ground floor, in a planted courtyard.
This is the address for a smart stay: generous and varied breakfast, dinner on-site, available staff, and rates that remain mild. It is for a couple or friends who spend their days outside and want to walk back from the square. Not for those looking for great luxury or the latest decor: the rooms, and especially the bathrooms, have a dated side, clean but old-fashioned.
The good slot: lunch on the rooftop, when the sun heats the deck. The trap: expecting a room redecorated from scratch, it is the roof you come for. To know: Jemaa el-Fna is a fifteen-minute walk away.
