L'Ô à la Bouche review: our verdict
French in technique, Moroccan by touches of spices: the cuisine of L'Ô à la Bouche plays on both registers. In the kitchen, Hervé Paulus, a Michelin-starred chef with a long track record in Marrakech's finest establishments, crafts a creative seasonal menu, delivered with the same meticulous attention to detail from the first bite to the dessert. The modern and cosy dining room has just the right amount of elegance to keep you upright and engaged without boredom.
Denis and his team lead the service with an attentiveness that brings people back, sometimes twice in the same week. A good table for a tête-à-tête, welcoming a guest, or a group of friends who appreciate fine cuisine, with a wine list to match. If the craving is for a tajine or a quick meal, it's better to look elsewhere: here, you come for French gastronomy and you take your time.
The best slot: in the evening, between 7 pm and midnight, from Tuesday to Saturday, when the dining room takes on the air of a chic bistro. At lunch, the kitchen is also open from 12 pm to 3 pm; closed on Sundays and Mondays.
