Restaurant Dar Al Arsa review: our verdict
There is no need to look far within the medina: Dar Al Arsa serves its Moroccan classics under parasols on Hassan II Avenue. The menu offers no surprises with dishes like lamb tajine, mixed couscous, and chicken rfissa, but the portions are generous and the prices reasonable.
The staff welcomes guests with kindness and efficiency, and many visitors return several times during a single stay. This is the ideal spot for a first meal upon arriving in Rabat, or a casual lunch between visits to the old city, especially since the kitchen operates from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m. Discerning palates may be less convinced: some dishes arrive lukewarm or slightly greasy, and this is not a place to expect chef's cuisine.
The dish to order: lamb tajine or chicken rfissa. The trap: the harira, which is far more bland than a homemade harira.
