The Hungry Nomad Rooftop review: our verdict
You have to seek it out, this rooftop: The Hungry Nomad hides away from the main streets, near the fish and vegetable market, and isn't easy to find at first glance. Once you're up there, the view sweeps over the rooftops of the old medina to the ocean, set against lounge music, with the calm of a place few manage to discover.
In the morning, it's the best time: a generous Moroccan breakfast, served with a smile and at a small price. For lunch and dinner, the Moroccan cuisine—chicken pastilla, tajine, taalouk—is good but takes its time, and the bill seems heavier for what it offers. Not for a rushed meal, nor for those seeking a gourmet table: here, you go up first for the view, the plate comes second.
The right slot: the time for Moroccan breakfast, served from 8 a.m. facing the ocean. The trap: looking for the address at random in the alleys; the rooftop is on El Abbana Street, near the fish market, a map is better.
