Restaurant Al Maimouni review: our verdict
Two floors, two views: the medina from the upper level, the port from the rooftop. Located at Bab Dar Dbagh, Al Maimouni capitalizes on this panorama and offers straightforward Moroccan cuisine served in generous portions: tuna tajine, meat tajine with vegetables, chicken pastilla, and vegetable tajine for those who do not eat meat.
Service is friendly from start to finish, and some appetizers often arrive while you wait. The location is suitable for lunch after a walk through the medina, whether with family or friends, open from 9 am until 11:30 pm. Those watching their dirhams should be wary of the most expensive specialties, where portions do not always match the price; the tajines, however, remain generous.
The dish to order: a tajine, of tuna or meat with vegetables. The trap: the seafood pastilla, 150 DH for little seafood (noted in August 2026). The good tip: go up to the rooftop for the view of the port, and finish with a jasmine tea.
