Sufra Restaurant review: our verdict
Mouhammara, fatteh, and arayes: Sufra Restaurant's menu speaks Palestinian, and it does so with a seriousness rarely encountered in Rabat. We share starters in the middle of the table: hummus drizzled with yogurt and fried bread, crispy-on-the-outside and tender-on-the-inside falafel, grape leaves, and then the meat-stuffed pita, which is plentiful.
The façade on Avenue Moulay Rachid pays no attention to appearance, but the interior is lively, the service is youthful and helpful, and vegetarians have plenty to choose from. Ideal for a group of friends who loves ordering a lot and tasting everything, or for stepping away from tagines for a dinner. Less suited to an individual menu of starter-main-dessert: here, the pleasure comes from sharing, and the prices allow you to multiply the plates.
The dish to order: a selection of shared starters, with mouhammara and grape leaves at the top of the list. The trap: arriving without a reservation, which is recommended to be sure of getting a table. The house closes on Mondays.
