Lahlou & Co review: our verdict
Start with the ice creams: 70% dark chocolate, stracciatella, macaron gianduja, and especially pistachio and creamy salted butter caramel, with a clean taste. Lahlou & Co also excels in modern entremets, with creations like the fresh and intense passion fruit raspberry, or the melt-in-your-mouth pistachio flower.
The shop on Ahmed Amine Street is beautiful, air-conditioned, with Wi-Fi, and lends itself to a gourmet break or a purchase for a special occasion. But at this price level, high for Casablanca, consistency is not always up to par: cakes sharing the same crunchy layer, a failed cookie, sometimes an approximate assembly, and madeleines overloaded with chocolate. Those who prefer acidity will prefer the tartlets over the individual cakes. Not a pastry shop for every day, nor for every budget.
The dish to order: a pistachio or salted butter caramel ice cream. The trap: the vanilla mille-feuille, 45 DH (recorded in October 2025), which divides gourmands between a cream considered heavy and a dry pastry.
